I had a skateshop, Knuckle Boardshop, that was open and closed for around 5 years. Everything I had in the shop I bought from Skate City, a skateshop I rode for since I was 14. Around my last year with the shop I had a little speedball screenprinting kit my girlfriend got me for a gift. I was losing a lot of business because of places like Zumiez, so we had a lot of free time to mess around with the kit. My buddy Ferny figured out how to use it, and we started making shirts for the shop and noticed we were selling a lot more of those than skateboards.
During this time, Ferny told me knew some guys from school that printed shirts and they could really help us because we were beginners.THAT WAS STEPHEN AND JJ. We talked here and there , while Ferny and I tried to offer custom screenprinting as a business. The name Proper came around, because skateboarders would say it sometime if you landed a trick real clean or "proper". We were trying to do it right but were having so much trouble and we were stressing out, something was missing. Then, JJ and Stephen, decided to walk into our shop. J.J. and Stephen saw what we were doing wrong and explained to us that there was a "Proper " way to do the business.
That was the day PROPER PRINTSHOP was really born, because they in fact were the missing pieces to the puzzle.

Proper Printshop formed when individuals, from different artistic backgrounds (performing, visual, musical, and film), found a common thread that tied all of their activities together.
DESIGN.
